Paint color codes

Does anyone know how to get a hold of the stock paint color codes?

http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...?gmcode=WE5137Name: lemmon chan.jpg
Views: 4278
Size: 67.1 KB

i did a google search and came up with this.

i think the paint code is:
WE5137
Light Yellow
PPG: 81503
Dupont: 4619L,4619,93-79070
Acme Rogers: 5708
Martin Senour:
Sherwin Williams:

then the white is:
White 521 WE5111

Re: Paint color codes

Auto Color Library has it listed as "521 Light Yellow". Your other information is correct. Two tone, Yellow and white would have been listed as number 550 on your SPID

The yellow is a '67 color reused in '68

Re: Paint color codes

550 is your two tone code
The light yellow is code 522, ditzler part number 81503
The white is actually ivory code 526, ditzler part number 8290

521 white was available in 68 but the two tone trucks used 526 Ivory instead of the 521 white.

Re: Paint color codes

First let me correct a mistake I made in my post.
In 1967 the code for Light Yellow was 522
In 1968 the code for the same color was 520, so your 68 should have code 550 on the SPID. and 550 breaks down to 520 light yellow and 526 Ivory, in 1968.
Both codes (522 and 520) are for Ditzler part number 81503
Regardless the Ditzler number for your yellow is 81503 and for the Ivory(off-white) is 8290
Here are the 67 paint chips

1968 chevy truck used the same colors as 67, with two new colors 525 saddle and 551 anniversary gold.

Here are the two tone colors for 1968. You can see ALL of them use 526 Ivory (8290) as the roof color

As far as your bumpers go, I am not sure on that. In 69 it was white but I'm not sure about 1968. When you get your Ivory paint, dot it on the bumper and see if it matches. If it doesn't then it's the 521 white.

Here is a good link for lookup of colors. It's the same website that kcsa75 gave you, just a different page.

Old post, but I'm trying to find the "yellow" code my 1970 (two tone, yellow & white). My SPID say 550 as well but the Ditzler chip index only shows 519, 520 and 525. I know 525 is Lt yellow, but I don't think the truck is THAT light.

550 is your two tone code. It breaks down to 520(yellow) and 521(white) in 1970. The 1970 Ditzler paint number for 520 yellow is 2100 and for the 1970 521 the Ditzler paint number is 2185
Here is the chart so you can see the 2100 yellow and the 2185 white for 1970.

Bruceman, much appreciated! Maybe I was looking at the wrong index sheet but that yellow looks more aligned with the color of my truck.

Looking at the 1971 and 1972 Ditzler indexes, I didn't see 520 yellow.
