C20 Tire Size

Pictures and sizes of tires on C20's....Just picked up some F**D 16x8 Wheels and need to see what size tires look good!

Also tire pricing...man they have gone up since I have bought some last....Where and what brand is the best?

Bought tires for my 07 GMC at Sam's Club and they were a great deal..maybe need to go back!

Thanks,

Re: C20 Tire Size

My "heavy 10" (c10 into which the PO swapped a 20-series driveline) has 235/85/16s. I kind of like the extra height of the 85 profile.

Cheapest tires I've seen in that size run about $160/ea.

Re: C20 Tire Size

265/75/16 here
They are the same height as 235/85/16 and an inch taller than 245/75/16
I've got 16 x 7 rims. The 265's should still look good on your 16 x 8 rims. The 235's might be stretching them a little on a wider rim like what you got.
I went with an expensive set of Michelins ($850 for a set). They're worth it though. The sidewalls are soft which makes for a great ride and they wear like hockey pucks so they'll last a long, long time.

Dan not to steal the thread but is your truck lifted or is it just the wheels and tire size that raises it? What brand of wheels are those?

Re: C20 Tire Size

They are H2's, I am also interested in whether or not the blue truck is lifted. i have seen some for sale locally with the same size tire on them and was wondering if they will go on the front with rubbing with stock suspension. Lets us know!

When I did front disc conversion I changed out the front springs. I installed some HD springs bought from NAPA. The stock HD C20 springs are as follows:

http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...752_0162319756

Part No.: 2771752
No. of Coils: 7.92
Free Height: 12.94"
Spring ID: 3.68"
Spring Load Height: 10"
Design Load: 2950
Spring Rate: 1016
Wire Diameter: 0.812"

The springs I put on from C10, C20, C30 from 1973-83. They are as follows:

http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...074_0162301536

Part No.: 2772074
No. of Coils: 8
Free Height: 13.61"
Spring ID: 3.676"
Spring Load Height: 10"
Design Load: 3841
Spring Rate: 1060
Wire Diameter: 0.83"

You could also use C30 mid '80's 1-ton springs, but I thought they would be too stiff. Those are:

http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...085_0162304063

Part No.: 2773085
No. of Coils: 7.93
Free Height: 13.34"
Spring ID: 3.65"
Spring Load Height: 11"
Design Load: 3289
Spring Rate: 1318
Wire Diameter: 0.906"

The wheels are chrome Hummer H2 wheels from 2003-07.

Re: C20 Tire Size

I have this exact Q right now. So the 265/75/16s on a 8" Rim won't ever rub? I'm replacing my split Rims w/ Wheel Vintiques 16x8's. Name: IMG_2221.jpg

Yeah, I believe so. My rims are 16x8 with 4.25 backspace and -5 offset. I run 265/75/16s and have never had any rubbing issues.
