See arrow in picture.

When I turn the key to crank, gas shoots out. It squirts out a 4"-6" stream.

I am thinking there is an easy fix, but I don't even know what that silver ball? opening is called.

It must be there for a reason, I just don't know it. Any ideas?

Well, Summit offered to replace it. Problem is no one has explained to me the purpose of this opening or what it is called. Any ideas? My thoughts are that it might be made to what it is doing... and I might be able to fix it without taking the fuel line apart, shipping it back, and remaking the end of the fuel line.

That's what allows the hose to rotate and be a "quick connect"...it's either a little bar or bb (like a compressor air hose fitting). It should NOT leak fuel as fuel should not reach that point. Either the fitting is not pushed on all the way or the o-ring(s)/seal(s) are damaged/missing.

I think you nailed it. I will try and adjust the fitting... It appears to be the bb type. I hope the o-ring is not missing or damaged. ...I have a feeling it is the o-ring like you said.

OK, I might have found my problem. I removed the blue components and examined them.

The Earl adapter (yellow arrows) threads into the Summit connector (green arrows). When tightened, it widens the gap (purple arrow) and removes the "play" between the two components of the blue Summit connector.

Another way to describe it is when I hold up the blue section of the Summit connector (green arrows) without the Earl adapter or the red Summit connector, it rattles. The "play" is about a 1/16".

To sum it up. The Earl adapter was tight to the TBI, the blue Summit connector was tight to the red Summit connector... but I didn't tighten the Earl adapter tightly to the blue Summit connector.

Is that enough colors for ya?

In addition, I think I need to place ARP thread sealant on the threads of the Earl adapter (since there is no O-ring) between the two parts. There IS an O-ring where it connects to the TBI.

I'll let you know shortly if it worked!
