Water pumps

Going to need a new water pump for the 402 in my 71 C30. I see threads where getting a quality part can be difficult. I’d rather only replace it once ... suggestions?

We used to and were taught to rebuild them in High School Auto Shop

Re: Water pumps

I can tell you this Delco fits like it's supposed to and it's nice looking too, 402:

A/C Delco, box reads 252-372 and GM 12494121.

They are out there, just not through Auto Zone, etc. The correct numbers & bolts guys demand that there be services that rebuild original equipment. I know a guy only by his first name, Jeff, who does carbs, water pumps, power steering, all that stuff. I remember him telling me when he first picked up his water pump rebuilding set-up. He goes around to swap meets seeking cores.

Found this one on Amazon. Kind of worded oddly, but I think thats it.

Just found for 72 bucks on Rockauto ... Never purchased from them before. Do they charge for shipping?
