Re: Traders black and red two tone pics from yrs ago?

I have some pictures, but they are 35mm. I will try to find them and get them scanned.

A friend of mine in Amarillo, Texas had the truck for a little while. There was a problem with the title and he sold it for $25,000. I actually got to drive the truck and it ran like a batoutah....! It was the first truck that I had ever seen with shaved drip rails. I had the chance to buy it, but it was too much for me at the time.

Give me a day or two and I will post back.

I actually found them pretty easy! These were taken in 1998.
They are scans so the quality sucks. I wish I would have take more pictures!
Heck, I wish I could have bought the truck!

That truck represents the late 90's well....

* I dont like the grille

* Nor the red painted engine ( I would had detailed it differently)

Does that truck have a chop top? or is it the paint job, that makes it look like it?

Re: Traders black and red two tone pics from yrs ago?

Back in the day that was one of the most bad ass trucks around. It help get the parts for our truck more popular and more company's carring them. I would love to have that truck.
As for the grille and paint it was the top of the line back in the day. No one else even came close to it. It's been one of my all time favorites since I first saw it.
jrdv,
You are very lucky to have been able to drive it. I wished I could have!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Traders black and red two tone pics from yrs ago?

that truck was on my wall when I was in high school, the grill kicked butt back in the day, still does. But the look is dated for sure now, but the truck was just as influential as the early classic truck of a few years ago. Too bad it was destroyed took alot of work to get it to the point it was then. If I remember correctly it was one of the "first" to get the 67 face lift on a 72 truck.

jrdv,

I thought it looked like it was parked outside his shop. I think he is building a new shop to build custom stuff in, and is going to do the production body work in the old location.

That truck spawned countless look-alike paint scheme, you still see 'em from time to time on CL and Ebay and a couple here. And it was bad**s back then. I would like to see what it looks like today, can anybody track it down?

Re: Traders black and red two tone pics from yrs ago?

anyone know the full story on the truck after the black/red paint scheme??

I seen the truck in Ft Smith at a collector car lot on the show floor. It was fully RED at the time and the frt grille had been swapped for the stock style. I was told it was damaged in an enclosed trailer accident and was re-done in the RED current paint scheme I seen.

I know that truck very well as I watched it in many mags and had posters of it also, and this truck was the real deal as far as I could tell.

Can anyone verify it was re-done in all RED??When I seen it,the year was I think late 03 early to mid 04.

Yep, Back in the day that was one bad truck. The shaved drip rail was just the right look for the truck.

Didn't Traders also do another one that was Pro Street style? Or was that another company.

Too d*mn funny! Everybody in the room asked me what I was laughing about. Reminds me of something one of my buddy's would say. From Atlanta myself.

I remember that truck too. I think subconsciously it influenced me to want this body style truck. I remember looking thru dad's old issues of Truckin' to find it from time to time. Dang. Although, it looks a little too flashy to me these days I still appreciate what it meant to me back then.
