People come from all over for pipeline work. Could it be an Alberta tag?

Some of the most interesting photos in this thread have no text what so ever. Even if you know nothing about the picture, please just say so. Thanks. It's either that or I (others, too) may get curious enough to bother you with a PM asking about one or more.

Thought I would share this since on this day in 1977, Elvis, no longer able to handle the pressure of being The King of Rock and Roll, decided to stage his own death and go into hiding.

I see these vehicles are in this pic:
Chevy PU - 69 or 70
Ford Maverick
Big Ford or Caddy?
Pontiac, maybe a Bonneville?
VW Bus
and on the other side:
Impala Wagon, 67 or 68
Chevelle
Ford LTD?

Cool picture!

This is the truck my dad drove when he was in the CCC's in the 30's. I think it was a '34 Chevy.

Re: Vintage picture thread

I think you are right on that being a '34 Chevrolet. I had a '35 Chevy panel years ago. Hood vents were a little different. Very cool pic!

Re: Vintage picture thread

I checked to see if I had posted before, #607. I found my family took many cool pictures, have scanned and posted on Flickr.

To stay with the Chevy theme, dad's father bought this new, traded for a '72 "Chevy" LUV POS before he died.

'57 Chevy mirror in the way. LOL The NPS moved parking and roads far away from these features.

Whoops, not a Chevy, sorry. North Rim of the Grand Canyon, USFS Powerwagon that was operated by a friend.

Oh snap, not a Chevy, sorry.

Rats, another brand, he sure loved this car, ton of pictures.

Oh good, there's a Chevy, whew! San Diego, that's all I know.
Dad's slides 91 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr

Oops, sorry, just a Ford.
Dad's slides 119 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr

Hope I can redeem myself, must be at least one Chevy in this picture. North Rim Lodge at Grand Canyon.

I'll play it safe, no vehicles. This is the bridge over the Little Colorado River at Cameron.
Grandpa's stuff 54 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr

Hope you enjoyed these. I have many of each vehicle, could milk this topic out for awhile.

I hope you do. They are real great! Your family took quality pictures back in the day. How do you get them converted to such great digital photos.

Thanks! I took those to Walmart, had them put onto a CD. I got a cheap scanner, not impressed with it.

Re: Vintage picture thread

Not sure if this meets the vintage picture thread requirements but here are some still frames taken of a nice 68 shortbed from an MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) video on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfSZVyL_ZyY&t=557s at 1:34. I guess they needed a truck to demonstrate the dangers of working around haul trucks, too bad it was a C10. Looks like the tailgate might still be use-able.
