Should I re-prime?

Hi guys;

last spring I painted my truck Cadillac Diamond White in this thread:

Since then, I've torn the truck down to fix a few things (especially the areas that were wavy) and now I'm getting ready to repaint it the same color.

My question is, should I:

- sand / scuff and reprime the whole truck

or

- can I just sand / scuff the door jams and inner fenders that I did not need to do any reworking on and just start with the base color & skip repriming those areas?

I guess its not a whole lot of ork to redo everything, I just like to have everything planned out before I start it, thanks!

Re: Should I re-prime?

There should not be any need to reprime the whole truck, are you painting it back the same color? If so you really don't have to even paint it all again. You can blend the paint and leave alone the areas that are ok with the exception of say sand that area with 1000 git then when you paint just blow your paint as you would normally on to the spots needing the paint, then clear the entire panel. I do it all the time. I did it on friday and am gonna do it again today as well. In fact the last five of six times the paint booth has had something in it I have done this
