Unhappy Hatch help

Not having a hatch handle is driving me nuts.
I bought a garage door handle at Home Depot
as soom on this board suggested. Now I need
"how to" make this modifaction. Any and all help
help will be apresheated.

Chevy Land in Sacramento CA has them on the self for $30.00 bucks or so..
