Post silver wheels or black?

some previous owner painted the wheels black, i just rattle canned two of them silver and it came out really good, just not sure if i should refresh the black paint and stick with black or go silver like original?

trucks going to be primered black soon so im thinking silver wheels will look good with the black primer

imo i would go with the black because with that paint scheme they make the truck look meaner even with black primer. btw, where did you get the rear view mirrors i like them i want some similar for my truck they look classy.

Tough choice. Nice truck, go with your gut preference. A little off topic but GREAT looking stance. Can you share the specs of tire/wheel sizes and drop specifications?

I think it actually looks good black with the silver paint. You can't really go wrong either way, though. Great looking truck!

well guys im starting to think i like the black better with the silver, but i think once its primed black id like the contrast of the silver wheels instead.

as for the mirrors, they were on when i got them, theyre just some standard chrome peep style mirrors that can be mounted on door railings and drip railings, you can find them at hod rot shops etc..

as for the stance, i personally dont like it, its got over 3" rake. i believe its around a 5/5 drop, previous owner did it. front tirs are 205/70/15 and rear are 235/75/15. the front is hammered and i like it alot, back i want to bring down a bit but i need to c-notch it first, i only have 2" of axle clearance right now.

eventually im going to have it down to a 5/7 or 5/8 drop. right now it rides so smooth even with the big drop that i really dont think an air susp will be necessary, unless i want it lower for when i park and go to shows, but i think a 5/8 drop will be good enough for that.

Depending on what kind of silver paint you used, thought I'd let you know that it's not always easy to spray over silver. If you notice any problems you might have to strip off that paint and start over.

I like the silver a lot better than the black. Flat primered trucks with silver wheels look sweet

Desert Rat, I had the '67 truck with black ralleyes / primered black I finally went back to chrome because the black on black combo made it look like a beater.
--which brings me to the question, what the heck would you want to change the color of that truck for-- it's beautiful!!!!!

yep truck looks like a million bucks in the photos, its amazing what photos can hide.

the paint is actually CRAP, previous owner did it himself with his dad. they didnt sand anything out, theres chips, theres scratches, theres dings, theres runs and theres waves. in real life when you get up to it you basically see atruck that looks like it was spray painted outta a can, it has some thick sanding marks here and there like they got lazy sanding and never when down to a lower grit and just sprayed clear over the rough surface.

besides black primer with a smooth body looks 10x better than a ****ty body and ****ty paintjob

The truck looks lower with the black wheels, which of course looks better

Silver looks best on ralleys. Any other color seems cheesy IMHO. The only black wheels I like are the ones you see on WC stock cars. Those look great with some trucks. Not sure how it would look on yours though.

I've always felt that lighter colors on ralleys make them stand out more so than dark colors. A nice silver w/clear gets my vote. I personally run the same combo on my 68 Beater: silver w/later model black centers & no trim rings but it's a faded stock gold/bronze color, silver/blk surround grill w/blacked out sport bumpers & mirrors. You will definitely like how it looks once you level it off so hurry & get that c-section & adj panhard bar @ classic perf parts but once it's that low kiss your bedfloor good-bye cause it's gonna get beat on right above the rear-end.

I am trying to make the same decision. I think both look good and like when rallies are painted the same color as the truck. Although, it is hard to go wrong with the stock color(silver). I am leaning toward black on my black truck.

Runs well... working on body.
Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend.
Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.

My vote is silver.....but it looks like you are overstocked with vehicles.........my next suggestion is to put it in my 5 acre yard with the title on the seat and the keysin the ignition.........I'll worry about the paint later. LOL.......Looks cool! rides good that way, huh? COOL!

Since this seems to be a vote,
mine goes hands down to the silver centers!
I dont really like the orange and the black
seems to much with the tires and all. But
it is your truck, do it how you like it!
BTW:nice looking paint job...
