Are the spring perches on 73-87' rears the same as 67-72' leaf spring trucks?

I used the perches that were on the 14 bolt rear I bought...only had to move them.

I dont believe so as the springs are different widths & the frames are slightly diff in that area. If nobody else can confirm this I can check my buddies 82 truck over the weekend & compare it w/the leaf set-up on my 67 parts truck. Oopps..I just re-read the post. Did you mean: are the shackles/hangers different yr to yr, or: are the perches on the housings & their location different?

Yep..now that I reread it...I'm not sure if your talking about the actual perch or the dimensions..!!

The c to c spacing on my 79 c20 is 42 1/2,The 79 K 20 has the same spacing. It is my understanding that the 67-72 with leaf have the same spacing ,with the exception of the 4X4,& the longhorn which are 40" c to c. the 73 up 1tons also have the 40" spacing. The shock mounts are different on the 73 up trucks,& will requier welding in that area. as for the frames,the longhorn is 34" across,& my 79 is slightly wider(1/8-3/16)....I would have to check for sure.....69 longhorn.

Glad I'm not the only one whose eyes work slower than his/her brain...now if I could only get my mouth to work slower than my brain life would be much easier @ times.

I guess I should've been a little more specific.I was actually meaning the width because I want to replace the Eaton in my 72' with a 76' 14bolt corp.Thanks though.

I have a 14 bolt corp rearend in mine. It was already there when I got the truck. It looks to me like they moved the shock mounts and that's it.
