Find a later model truck (not too late) and swap the entire crossmember.

Question

Can you do this and maintain 6 lug rims?. Would a 4x4 cross member work?

There are plenty 71/72 trucks in the yards in Nevada. Just go get the correct parts. I have an extra complete 71 crossmember.
