Post Problems with LMC.

Has anyone EVER contacted LMC and talked with a sales representative that knows anything about our year trucks?

Every time I call to ask specifics or simple but important pre-purchase questions, I get the same thing. Either they don't know or they are unable (unwilling) to get the part in front of them in order to find out.

Maybe I'm just a little too critical, but damn are these people irritating. When you are a parts distributer as large as LMC, I would think you should at least have customer service representatives that are familiar with the parts they are selling. Or at the least willing to find out for you.

I've had the same problem with them, the people you talk with are order takers only.

Man i hate buying from LMC, because half the time they give you the wrong stuff or it doesn't even work right. I bought some sunvisors and brackets from them and those things were pieces of crap. I couldn't even get them to stay in the up postion. just my Thoughts on LMC.

Thats why i like to support the little man, usually knows his parts, works on vehicles to.Not some dude getting paid $6 and hour to talk on the phone.and couldnt tell a spark plug from a radiator hose.by from the vendors on the board Wes,GMCPaul,CPNE has used and is good to deal with, ive never dealt with mothertruckers, but im sure i will.Besides big companies sometimes charge more or use less than parts need to cover their nice catalogs, shop rent, employes, and etc.Help out the littler guys-id even pay more from someone who did it out of their backyard than a big outfit, atleast i know smaller guy is feeding his family, and big guys running millions of dollars corporation-they dont care about the parts, the just need to make the bmw, porsche,or ferrari, payment.Plus you can usually wheel and deal with the smaller outfits. They can sell for anyprice, and not stick to their pretty catalog prices. But just my opinion.LMC has a nice descriptive catalog, ive used it for reference many times, but never bought anything from them, and most likely never will.

Ditto that.....
I bought a cowl to hood seal and it is so thick i caint use it. I also bought a set of door mirrors and in a few days the drivers door mirror fell apart at the ball adjustment. They sent me another mirror after i sent in the half back to them. Like he said before me, they make a good catalog for references and that is i will evwer use them for again unless i get really desperate.
Hope this helps,
Guy

I got my brake lines from LMC. They are close (40 miles) from here and so I made sure I looked at what I was getting before I bought it. Then the brake lines were cut so short that one side barely fit and the other side was about 3" to short no matter what I tried.
They do have a nice catalog with nice diagrams. They do sell everything for the trucks, just low quality, high prices, and bad service.
I would by from them again maybe, but I would have to go back their and look at the product I was buying. And now I know to go to Chevy Duty, Ron Manes, and Jim Carter which are just as close.

Runs well... working on body.
Plan to get painted weekend before memorial day weekend.
Planned to be done March 7 when I turned 16. Didn't happen. Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.

I have used LMC in the past. I ordered a couple of their metal truck bed halves to replace my rotted bed. All was well, and I was happy with the end product. However, talking to the order taking gal about the hardware (nuts, bolts, washers) I needed was a definite trial. Nice exploded view catalogs, but also I find their prices to be on the high end. I would rather purchase from the smaller guys, or buy a parts truck. Just my two pence

I had a simple question on a simple part. All I wanted to know was how big the part was! They wouldn't tell me. Nor would they connect me with someone who would tell me. Instead they told me that a "technical representative" would get back to me in 48 hours.

Yeah, like I'm going to sit around for that long just on a simple question. By the time the guy called I had the part from someone else.
