I have the sway bar from CPP but have not installed it yet. I have run into a problem I dont know how to fix. On the last step is says to mount the bar to the trailing arms. But since the trailing arms are not paraleel to the frame but angled, the rear holes have to be angled as well. Plus how are you supposed to drill into the trailing arms? Can anyone see the problem here? (look at the pic on CPP web site).

To add my experiences..I bought a rear bar on sale from Brother's 2 years ago after determining that all after market were basically the same. Just like 72gmcshorty the first problem was the trailing arm/bar bracket misalingment (the pictures with the instructions are totally bogus). When I called for clarification I was connected to the "engineer" who admitted the drawing was misleading and needed to be redone. No s#*t sherlock! I found brackets at a local auto supply that had longer legs and by elongating bolts holes was able to twist brackets to line up with trailing arms, sort of. Next problem were the bolts to connect bar to frame brackets. The ones I received are 11 inches long and will hit anything higher than 4-5 inches high I pass over (Truck lowered 4 inches in rear) When I asked them to check with their stock and see if this was the correct length they got back to me next day and said this was correct (But they don't actually stock bars so I believe this answer to be bogus also). I have several old ('97) truck mags showing a rear bar being installed and the bolts look to be no longer than 8 inches, maybe shorter. In conclusion, I have never received a satisfactory answer from Brother's, CPP or this forum so the bar collects dust on the garage wall.

When ya snooze, ya lose...Just read the 4/15 post on this same subject and followed MikeB's advise (THANKS) to look into the ADDCO link. I've got a feeling they may be able to answer the questions I have had with my bar install. I'm going to try anyway and will post anything positive I get
