Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Hey mah peeps
We're runnin 15x8's with 295/50's out back
Right now the frts r 215/60. Probably going to change up to a 255/60 for summer. Match the height a bit better.
Soon we're going to swap out the rear coils with some 99 tj's
And cut the frts a turn and a half..

That's for sure!! Got rid of mine about 30 years ago.... except for the spare, an original 7.50-16 on a split rim, still under the truck.

There's a reason we called those " Widow Makers " back in the 1960's....

Lol! I think some are getting tired of seeing me post my setup. Static 5/4 drop (guessing since I bought it that way) with spindles and springs up front and springs out back. Wheels are from circleracing.com– 17's all around, 9.5" front and 11" rears with 4.25" and 5.5" backspacing and Nitto 555 tires. Added a rear sway bar from CCP and a quick ratio streering box from AGR Performance. It stays level and I run out of horsepower before traction as I still have the stock 350 with 114K miles.

Well it looks great and nice to see astatic dropped truck in general. Seems like everything is bagged and siting on the floor. That's not my cup of my tea. A nice, simple and effective setup like yours is great.

Thanks. I just bought the truck in October and as far as I know, the PO cut the springs all around. Now the shocks are trashed and it rides like a bouncy castle...

Here's my 1970 C20 running 16X7's with 265/75/16. I have a 2 inch spacers on the front springs. Thinking about taking them out to get the stock rake.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

3 things,

1, I am surprised by how many people like the steel rims as much as I do

2, I am surprised that as many trucks I have seen on this forum I have only seen one person do what I am planning to do on my truck paint scheme wise (they used different colors than I would have though),

and 3, I am amazed that I haven't put the blue knight on this board as long as I have been following it, so here she is in all her unrestored glory. Might be trading her off soon though.

Interested to hear what this paint scheme is, have any links or pics of the other member with the paint scheme you are referring to?

I am keeping the longbed and 6 lug axles if I can, but want to eventually put a muncie m22x and a 427 in it. It will look somewhat like this one but will be a pearl metallic candy brandywine with the pearl white top and sides. I want the pearl white to wrap around the grille and tail gate like on this truck though, and I am planning on incorrperating a pearl metallic blugrass (All paint from house of kolor) by using it on the steel wheels, lettering on the grille and tailgate, the bowties in the hub caps, and I am going to get custom highlander plaid made in red white and blue. Yes I know that its going to scream america but thats where these trucks were made and I think that it will look good being the deep red and blue with all the metallics and perals.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

My truck has had several sets of steelies on it.

First set, original 15x6 with 235/75.

Second set, 15x8 with 275/60.

Third and current set, 22x9 with 265/35 front, 22x9 with 285/40 rear.
