WIW? Old valve covers

I have a set of old valve cover that i cleaned up last night so I could either polish or paint them. The came out of a 55 chevy car. Im sure they werent original but I havent ever seen some with the chevy emblem in the middle. I really just curious if it would be worth my time to polish or paint them or just chunk them on a shelf.

Here are a couple better close up pics. I was kinda thinking the same thing about the vette valve covers. Not that it makes any difference but they came off of a 400sb with double hump 327 heads.

They aren't factory. Not sure on this, but I'm pretty sure that several companies made that style with varying emblems in the center. I've seen them with Yenko, Baldwin, ect. They are nice looking valve covers, and this is the first pair I've seen with the Chevy emblem on them. Nice. Not sure on the value, though.

I think if you put a good polish on them that you could get $100 for them. Painted I'd say $50 or $75 if you put some detail on them. If they were min I would polich them, only because then they would match any color engine.

Re: WIW? Old valve covers

I`d say they`re worth $75 as they are.Polishing could take them to $100,but if you are thinking about selling I wouldn`t bother. If it`s for you,it`s worth it.

I'd actually make an offer of $50 on them to you right now if you were selling them as they sit....
