'62 longbed going under the knife

This is my '62 longbed, I've been working on this project for about a very slow year. But now that I have gotten back in gear to get it done I decided to finally start a thread. I actually bought this truck as a parts truck, but it ended up being the main project. (funny how that works out) But these pics are from the day I brought it home. Never really started this build with much of a plan except to drop it and make it fast, so we will see what happens!

Re: '62 longed going under the knife

My brother Calvin did a full tubular chassis on his '70 a few years ago and the original frame he had (already dropped 5" in the front and 7" in the back) was up for grabs to get used. So one of the first things I wanted to do was swap the body off the original '62 frame onto the '70 to see where about the stance was going to set.

That stance looks great. What wheels and tire size are you running?

Wow! Impressive!
That is how you tackle it right there!!!!
You have simply decide to go for it, and get things done!
The rust does not simply go-away if you look at it more!
Forge ahead! Great job!!!

Re: '62 longed going under the knife

Thanks. I thought the rims looked a little deeper dished than just stock rims. I'm considering a build and have spent a lot of hours on this forum admiring the work you guys do. I have a line on a fairly clean '66 C20 that I would like to make look like your truck. I recently finished a '65 Cobra replica build and miss the wrenching!!!
