Medium/Dark Olive Glove Box Door Question

I have seen more than once a medium olive truck have a dark olive glove box door. I know I have seen it on supers, but I believe also on non-woodgrain trucks. Is this just an owner preference (changed or painted), or did they come from GM with the dark olive poly GB door as an offset color (or am I just crazy)?

Re: Medium/Dark Olive Glove Box Door Question

Most all 69-72 GMC's had an offsetting color glovebox door. Foe example, med. olive truck would have dark olive door & vise-versa. Same for medium and dark blue. The only time I've seen Chevy have a different color glovebox door was having a black door on an ochre or red-orange truck.

Are you meaning a non two tone solid color truck?

I've never seen that except on GMCs - and I don't recall ever seeing it on a YE9 code truck, Chev or GMC - but would like to see one, I just haven't yet.

Re: Medium/Dark Olive Glove Box Door Question

I don't recall if they were two tone or not. They could have been GMC's, I have just noticed them in pictures. The blues were another that I have noticed as JQ-72 mentioned. I think my Ochre/white/ochre/white sierra grande had a light tan glove box door.

Re: Medium/Dark Olive Glove Box Door Question

GMC glovebox doors and clusters were painted interior trim color. So a medium olive truck with olive interior would have a dark olive glovebox door.

Re: Medium/Dark Olive Glove Box Door Question

Thanks all. They must have been GMC's that I have noticed. Either way, I like the contrast between the two olives.

Dark olive glove box here. Medium olive everywhere else.
