I have looked all over and feel silly for asking...
Where do the styrofoam anti rattle cushions for the instrument panel lens go?

Here are the pictures I took when I disassembled my dash panel for R&R.

They do sell them aftermarket but basically nothing but foam. They are too pricey for me as many restorations as I do.

What you can use is a piece of vacuum hose and fill it will black silicone.

It is very hard to find original ones that are still soft.

And then I read the original post which does NOT ask where to find them

Thanks, that helps a lot. I had the cluster apart to freshen up and install a tach and there were no cushions there.

I don't have the cushions in my cluster. And it doesn't rattle or anything.

Small pieces of black foam work really well for this. Cut them to what ever size you need and they will last forever. Nobody see them so no harm done.

I used foam rope from the hardware store on mine. It is used to stuff in cracks around windows and as a backer for large cracks before caulking. it comes in a bag for a couple of dollars. lifetime supply.

Or you could get a tube of RTV, cut the conical nozzle to the right diameter [1/8''?], and squeeze a long line out on some wax paper. In 24 hours when the RTV has cured, cut the line into the required lengths.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
