Thanks Low Elco! It is helpful knowing more than just me and my wife are anxious to see this thing move. I ordered my SF3 Powerflash today.
$400.00 I didn't have but won't work w/o. That'll help light a fire under me.

Re: Another frikken Volvo ?

Got the Powerflash today! Co workers knew I was waiting for it and hid it from me. "Oh FedEx was here but they went up front" waited for me to go to the other building and set it on my chair. Very funny.
Also had my injectors cleaned. Only 2 out of 8 were working at all. All good now. Yesterday I picked up some 1/0 welding cable. Nice stuff easy to bend and made in USA. Plus it was about 3 bucks less than parts store cable.

Hope to find some time this weekend for some progress. Going to clean the fuel rail, but not sure the best approach. Thinking a gas soak then some carb cleaner sprayed through.

Check out the original ground cable. Think I can do better.

Re: Another frikken Volvo ?

Making progress, Some of it 2 and 3 times due to self inflicted slow downs.
Doesn't look like much, nor does it look like the several hours I have into it this weekend. I am on the fence of trashing the EGR system. Just takes up so much room. Made a nice cap for the EGR port I had added to my header.

EGR, yes or no? Thoughts?

Re: Another frikken Volvo ?

Hooked up the tuner tonight and well........... nuthin. Not exactly. It powered up to where the tuner was letting me scroll but it did not get info it needed from the PCM. But ya know it still felt good being this close. I turned the switch on the battery post and had my son watch for smoke or sparks. And its still not on fire. Pretty happy. Now to trouble shoot what's not complete.
Already found 2 grounds that were not connected. Its tough remembering years later were everything goes let alone did everything get plugged back in.
My daughter showed up with cookies for Fathers day so I left well enough alone for tonight. Tomorrow I dig in again!

Light in the end of the tunnel! Actually since its the Mrs. car I'm on the fence about how to tune the computer. Won't be a DD. But not a race car either. Somewhere down the middle.

Boy I hope we can do something other than that. LOL

GOOD NEWS! Got a code to program the PCM today. Small step but huge in importance. Its all downhill from here. Might shave my beard before the 1 year mark.

Yes! Sent in my info to the programmer, now I wait................

Went to a metal meet today and mostly watched. Was fun and informative.
Came home with a borrowed bead roller for tubing. Then promptly broke it.
Doh!
Was just a roll pin. Hardware store is close so bought a few. Back together to finish up poorly done tube ends. (beat ends with a hammer)

Tools are fun!

The Volvo in your profile pic isn't for sale on N Stevens in Tacoma, is it?

To be clear, not my handy work. Came as part of my so called kit.

Nope, that one (ours) is tucked away in the shop waiting its turn. I did recently charge up the battery and need to get it out and moving.

Have to go to N Stevens and take a peek.

It's between N 13th and 14th. There's a guy on the corner with an impressive collection of Volvos. Looks like he likes em all. Just down the street from him is a guy with a 70 C10 and a '68 Chevelle, both appear to be regularly driven. I'm liking my hood more with every motor head that moves in!

Re: Another frikken Volvo ?

Looks like the beard might just stay a bit longer. Going in for an MRI as soon as I can get in. Dr. says I need surgery. Just great. Doing stupid stuff while inner tubing behind my buddies boat. So I went in the shop today and worked one handed for just a few minutes.
Bought a generic hose just to rob the spring inside of it. Now how to tighten hose clamps with my left hand. I suppose I'm in no hurry.

You mean it wasn't originally by Vanilla Ice?

Hope you get to feeling better. Cleaning up messes is worse when you hurt.

Thanks! Had MRI today and Doc says its shredded not torn, not sure I'll be a candidate for surgery? Another appoint on Thurs.

Was hoping someone noticed its "under pressure" because it runs now. Even if its only a a couple seconds because not all my fluids are full or staying put. LOL

Some nickel and dime stuff and probably a new steering rack, I'll have it a driver!

Re: Another frikken Volvo ?

Got a reman rack from RockAuto and have it part way installed. Shoulder is doing o.k. Then Medical issues with my folks so that took priority. They are doing well now and I can start to play catch up on my many projects. LOL
Laying on my back to finish the rack install is no fun but needed. I'll get to it soon. In the meantime all I have news worthy is new wheels.
Factory wheels are decent looking but tiny 14X5 (5.5?) new wheels are from newer Bertone and are 15X6. Be a good fit for a little wider and easier to find tire. And they are lighter than the 14's.

Re: Another frikken Volvo ?

Had a friend from work come over today and we fought the P/S rack for hours but we won! Its in ...............finally!
Had to heat and bend the P/S line to fit the new rack. Volvo's have many rack possibilities.
Now a small list of items to take care of .............until another list of items is obvious.
Very happy to make progress again.

Nothing picture worthy.

Re: Another frikken Volvo ?

In between playing with the Amazon I've been toying with the exhaust on the Bertone. Its about 95% done now. Started it today after filling radiator with warm water. Only to see it dripping out off of the starter? I am afraid I have a freeze plug at the back of the block leaking? I could not see anything leaking anywhere else. (not counting the tranny fluid leak LOL)
The video of the start up with the rest of the exhaust in place just turned out terrible. So I wont bother. Engine pull # 6 ?

It did eventually stop dripping, so it fixed itself?

Just to be sure, I borrowed a Snap On tester but it wouldn't hook up with the Swedish reservoir cap. No bigs, bicycle pump to the rescue.

Could be a quick fix? Some dummy didn't replace an intake bolt.
