CL find - clean 1977 Suburban

A little more than what I paid, but I still think a fair price. I've always had a soft spot for the wood-grain trim, and would have preferred to find a clean 75-77 for just that reason. I'd really like to go take a look at it, but I hate to waste somebody's time just kicking tires. The only thing that would change my mind is if it had rear barn-doors: a truly rare item in an upscale half-ton.

But I'm still happy with what I've got - I prefer the two-tone look, and rear heat is more useful to me than rear air.

Sheesh, I hear what your're saying. Way too much red. Definitely not what I would have ordered back in the day, nor anyone I would have known back then.
But somebody did, based upon the likely options list - and probably paid good money for it at the time, and then they made the effort to take good care of it in the intervening years.

Even if it only had a white center accent, I would be more interested. And that would be something easy to achieve after the fact, but do you think a new buyer would agree? How important is absolute originality versus nearly forty year old aesthetics?

Either way, dang I really like the wood-grain interior.

Wood grain...lol
I can still remember my Dad trading in his '70 CST Blazer in on a all-new-for '73 Blazer complete with woodgrain inside and out. My grandpa said it looked like a log cabin on four wheels. Grandma said shelf paper and then everybody started in on him. I told him it looked like a tree fort and thought it was neat-o!

My very first square was a 73 Blazer Cheyenne with full wood-grain, and my second was a 75 GMC with the partial wood-grain on the doors and dash pad but not on the bezel. I think I've been lusting for a compromise of the 73 ever since, and the 77's were just slightly less obtrusive than the 73-74's or 75-76's.

It is a shame (or maybe a good thing for my wallet) that the doors and bezels changed or I would be on a serious hunt to convert my 1980 Burb to wood-grain.

Or maybe... I should just buy this 77 and upgrade it to what I like about my 80... maybe I should admit that I'm just looking for justifications and reinforcement here.

That truck is nice. I used to hate those GM red interiors but like them now, nostalgic about them I guess. Someone swapped in white A-pillar trim on that truck.
