67-87 front crossmember in a 55 2nd series?

Getting ready to start on my dads 55 2nd series. Its going to be a full build with a 2x4 frame. I was wondering if the 67-87 front crossmembers are the same width as the 55s front axle? I have been searching and everyone is doing the camaro clips and expensive aftermarket kits. I am plannin on goign to the junk yard and i could measure myself and what not but its much easier to go and know what your lookin for. Thanks guys i really appreciate it!!
