Turn signal cancel device

Here is a strange question. My steering wheel is about 15° (clockwise) off when going straight. The turn signal cancel works odd because of this. My question is this, can I correct this turn signal cancel issue if I remove and put the steering wheel back on straight?

Simply put...yes. This is why it's out to begin with. Make sure the tires are pointing straight. I would drive the truck and get a good count of turns from lock to lock, then get the wheels good and straight. Take the wheel off without moving it and reinstall it.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

There's no reason not to but for some reason, I remember my steering shaft's splines as being keyed so you could be on or 180 out but that's it. Am I mis-remembering? Can they be put back on in any orientation?

The steering wheels I have worked with could be installed just about any place the splines would line up.

Re: Turn signal cancel device

Once you get steering wheel alignment set up right, take a steel chisel and lightly score a strike mark at 12 O'clock. Then the next time you have the wheel off, you'll know where it goes back to.
The factory did this originally, but in 50 years the marks could have worn off.

Re: Turn signal cancel device

My alignment seems good, so I will try to remove and install my steering so it is straight. Actually I could use a better steering wheel as mine is has a large crack, but for now it will have to do.
