Edelbrock AVS2

I'm thinking about buying and using the Edelbrock AVS2 carburetor on my C10.
The truck is just a street truck... not a high horsepower tire shredder. Anyone using the Edelbrock AVS2 carburetor? How do you like the carburetor? I would appreciate your thoughts and feedback.

Re: Edelbrock AVS2

Ran one on our 69 El Camino with a 396. Runs well. Didn't have to do much tinkering with it out of the box really. This too was pretty much a stock motor, with the exception of an aftermarket intake and carb.

Re: Edelbrock AVS2

That's what I went on my rebuilt 350 for my K1500, just a street build with a Vortec top end. Minor adjustments required out of the box, right now it still has a bit of a high idle when I cold start it but that should be fixed with another turn or two of the adjustment screw. Seems to work well overall.

I purchased one in April and it had a crack in the main body and it was a fight to get it replaced. the replacement does not work very well. i am probably going to purchase a Summit M2008 Carb since I have a few friends that use them and have had pretty good performance.

Re: Edelbrock AVS2

Love my AVS2, which replaced a 1405. Starts great. I leaned it out a bit (.098 main jets w/ 1446 rods (.068 x .042).

My run of the mill every day carb is the original 1405, runs everyday, no issues. Going on 10 years now even with ethanol. Boy when am I going to have to break out that rebuild kit?

Re: Edelbrock AVS2

We have 2 of them and they are great. The throttle response is a great improvement over the 1406's. Very little tuning right out of the box. I'd buy 10 of them over one Holley. I'm sure there are a lot of Holley lovers out there, but I'm not one of them. The 1906 is the best street carb on the market right now.
