Re: Please define what is a SUPER trucK?

Was Houndstooth interior standard in a Super Cheyenne? Besides the Highlander option

*EDIT* I think I see the part that has you a little confused, you called it a cst dlx... it's a custom delux... CST is Custom Sport Truck. Which that option ended in the truck line with the 70 model anyways.
You are right I did not realize the difference. Thanks

In 72, custom was the lowest package available I think.
As pointed out, custom was base model, Custom delux, was the lowest package.

Re: Please define what is a SUPER trucK?

Yes, I know this thread is from '07. I fell upon it searching for another thread. We've come a long way baby! This info is common knowledge on this site today. Looking back at threads like this are like looking at Facebook today. Makes me wonder why so many left here for there. I guess for non truck related reasons.

Super Custom was the same level as Custom Deluxe in 71/72. Sierra was the same as Cheyenne and Sierra Grande was same as Cheyenne Super. The base level was Custom, same as Chevy.

Before that, in '67, '68, and early '69 Super Custom was top trim level option and Custom was mid-level. The base trim I believe was referred to as Standard, with no emblems on fender. GMC was ahead of Chevy with adding the Sierra and Sierra Grande trim level in later '69 and were on top of the Custom and Super Custom Package, in the same lower to higher order. Those trucks had both trim level shown, Custom on Fender and Sierra on bedside, and same way with Super Custom/Sierra Grande. I'm a bit unclear if anyone has light to shed on this. You see, their emblems did not necessarily state the trim level correctly. The 67/68 Super Customs just had Custom on the emblems and there was also a larger Custom script fender emblem seldom seen. The '67 Super Custom fender emblem was the "shark gill" one year only emblem with 'custom' in script. In '68-'72 the same style fender emblems were used with trim level shown. But no Sierra or Sierra Grande shown until those became their own stand-alone trim levels in '71.

Let's get this worked out once and for all. The GMCs deserve and accurate breakdown on what and when with trim levels

Not too deep. Whatever I was searching went back that far by the second page. If you think '07 was a long way back you must be a young buck ... or I mean

That thing is so cool. But I still think the perfect name would have been Supburb

Jim
I got the four eyes gene. I'd like to have someone shed a better light on the trim level breakdown. I feel mine is a bit incomplete and possibly inaccurate in places. I don't figure it's the final word.

When 70CST started this thread I remember thinking the first ones to reply misunderstood him. I figured he'd know what a Cheyenne Super was after being on the sight as long as he had and my thoughts went straight to the actual NASCAR supertrucks. I didn't even reply until I came back and it appeared I was wrong and he was needing to know what made a truck a Cheyenne Super
