Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

Iím plugging along on the d/s door panel. Got it taken off and taken all apart. Iíve cleaned the panel itself up and it looks pretty good, but the upper metal trim and the velour inset piece looks like poop so I sourced new ones.

The replacement carpet lower panel looks much better than the original ones!

^^^Yeah, they were filthy! I didn’t really realize it until I got the new ones. I’m excited to be getting close to finalizing the interior. Next, I’ll be under the hood.

And...thanks on the wheels! I’m pretty pleased with them. Killed me not to go bigger, but this is going to be a driver...a lot of driving.

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi

I had somebody PM me for a pic with the wheels on the front. I havenít even moved it, so the front is sitting up. I still need to wash it again (since the buff & polish), a few coats of polish & wax, and then put the trim back on. I havenít decided if I should put the Silverado trim back on or not...it wasnít on it when I got it, but itís a Silverado?

I kinda do too. But I need to get a closer look at it on a truck. Itís either sold in a roll, or for a truck with only a d/s tank. The difference in price is SUBSTANTIAL! I need to see what the edges look like at the ďcutsĒ.

Sorry, no pictures...but a full pass with Mother’s clay bar, 2 rounds of Meguiar’s #7 and then 3 coats of Meguiar’s ultimate wax later and it’s one slick 8itch I got the rest of the wheel arch trim and such put back on too. I’ll get some pics up this week.

I love how the Clay Bar cleans the paint and makes it smooth as a baby butt. I just did my 2006 Chevy Colorado. Sheís slicker than snot!
I use Griots products, since I do some Detailing on the side. I like how I can get most of their products in gallon refills.

Mines still not baby butt smooth, but itís much better than when I got it. It was more like 200 grit rough.

Iíve never used the Griots, but Iíve heard great things about their products!

On another note, I got a shipping confirmation on my remaining door panel trim pieces. Looks like Wednesday. But, Iím still waiting on the seat cover.
