Huck, could you send me some pics of the 6 cyl dash, and describe the condition of the circuit board etc? Thanks, Don.

Supposedly a switch on the back to set them for 6 or 8....but I don't have one to verify that... Someday, I'll get a tach dash, just too many other expenses right now..

The back of my tach has black painted letters that say "V8". There is no switch on the backside. On the inside where the printed circuit board is, and in the guts of the tach, maybe, but I highly doubt it.

Talking

The tachs are adjustable for a 6 or 8 cylinder so the designation indicates what the tach is set up for.

The tach dash's are identical except the 6 and 8 have different part numbers for the gauge. They do NOT have any switch on back for designating 6or8. What they do have is a potentiameter which is a slotted knob recessed in the upper part of the rear of the tach guage. It is often covered with a white paper seal as a means of keeping dummies from playing with them. I suspect that the tach's are actually idenitcal gauges that are set up and adjusted at the plant of manufacture before they were sent to GM. According to GMC Paul, you can adjust either guage to work with either engine. In reality and according to some experts on ColoradoK5, the tach's are far from accurate when attached to HEI Distributors due to "wave pattern created by the higher output of the HEI verses stock". My guess is that they are off a bit but then again, they look great and are fine for most drivers purposes. I will attach pictures of the units for all those who asked. Huck

6 tack dash

I am interested in the 6 cyl dash. Can you tell me if all the gaures and circuit board or working. Also, is there any wiring available to hook up the tack to engine. Lastly, can you include shipping to fla, 32174 for the $ 200.00

Thanks DC
