Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

It seems that my wife believes the grass is greener somewhere else, so that has left me with alot more free time to work on my project and has given me a name for my project. This one should be a very nice driver when completed.

72 SWB 4x4
Vortec 383 roller motor
Beefed 700R4
NP205
Stock axles, 3:73's, eaton posi rear
4" Skjacker softride
Mostly rust free body parts out of Cali.

Let me know what you think so far !!!

Guess I'll have to work on the pic size some !!!

Looks nice what you have done so far. It's hard for me to say that I'm sorry to hear about your marriage going sour (been there, done that) but sometimes it's for the best. Just keep working on the truck, It keeps your mind busy on other things.

I like it! I like the frame rig you have. I think I will need to do that when I get back to my project.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Sorry to hear about your divorce. The same thing happened to me about 9 years ago. Best thing that ever happened to me! Id much rather keep my "mistress" anyway. At least you know she's not going anywhere unless you sell her!

That rotisserie setup that you have looks pretty slick. I need to make one of those myself for they day that I strip my old gal down to the framerails. I will be watching this build! I can't wait to see this one come together as I'm a 4x4 nut myself, and I absolutely love the 67-72 shortbeds! ...Joe

The rotisserie really was pretty easy. I originally wanted to use engine stands, but Gary came up with the parts, so I welded them together.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

I'm a 4x4 nut myself, the only time I buy a 2wd is for the body parts to put on a 4x4.

The rotisserie was made up of scap pieces laying around, and it's ajustable for different frames, bolts right up were the springs go.

Yeah I noticed that! I think that is a pretty slick way to do it! ...Joe

Nice work so far, I'll keep watching as I too like the looks of the 4X4 short beds, looked alot of years for one, but ended up with a Jimmy

Are your tow hooks correct? Mine face the other way and I used the forward upper holes, don't know I don't have a bumper on it yet???? J.

Nice project.I love SWB 4wds..since I own 2 of them myself. Those tow hooks are backwards, well for 69-72s they are.The 67-68 hooks were mounted that way originally though..
Sorry about the marriage.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Thanks for all the comments !!! I'll get the tow hooks figured out when the time comes, long way to go !!! The divorce thing was a big surprize, but it realy started about 2-1/2 yrs ago when my wife was in a car accident and suffered head injuries. Some of you may remember a post I did back then Titled: "Prayers Needed" She recovered to about 85% but she was a different person and has a different outlook on life than the person I married. After 23 yrs and all we went through I never expected it. OH WELL life goes on. This project and Johns projects have kept me busy and real has helped keep me sane. ( At least I think I'm sane )

Well, right now it's my project. There is no way the future ex-Mrs. can touch this.
