Best way to pull rocker studs....
Yep...you guessed it, its roller time for my motor.
So naturally I need to pull the factory pressed in style studs and tap them. I was just wondering how to get the damn studs out. Just for the record on previous motors Ive never done this before....just ran the rollers on them with no problem. But Im running a shaft mount style so I really need to get them out. Thanks, Mitch-

I had on old ford 302 that I had to remove studs. I would stack hardened washers up and run a nut down, back it off add a few more washers and repeat until the stud came out. I would think it would work?

As stated above, you can stack washers up to the threads, or I have used old rocker pivot balls for the same purpose. This goes a lot faster if you have an impact wrench.

I did it the stock 307 years ago by having the throttle linkage get stuck at wide open. When I clutched and before I stomped the pedal to break it loose...I removed 6 of them little boogers. Real quick and in a hurry. But I really dont recomend my method.. Too much pucker factor involved...Good luck. They do make a tool though.

Now thats funny yes you can stack washers and pull them just takes awhile by hand.
