72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

Look in my siggy for the links to threads w/picts. I've been out of work for a while and tore a bi-cept tendon (surgery!) and tore up my knee (yep, you guessed it, ANOTHER surgery!!) all of this in the span of two months!! I need to seel the two projects, my 07 Harley Sportster with 126 miles on it!! Heck I need to sell 4 quads that are a couple of years old (in age but have been riden twice and stored in the garage since!!) The unemployment isn't killing me, but having all of this "stuff" and our finances being tight has lit a fire under my feet to sell this stuff as holding on to it isn't costing money, but I could use some $$$. If you are interested in anything I am rambling about, PM me and let's make a deal all this stuff is OBO!

Thanks!, Mike

Picts of the mish mosh of stuff 4 sale!!

If so it is my fault, sorry $1800 for the Burb and $5500 for the factory 2wd Blazer. Those prices may be negotiable, but money talks

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

I am headed to work on the Blazer (I will install the core support, grill, and hook up the engine and fire it up so it will be a RUNNING/DRIVING Blazer!!) tomorrow or Sat. I know some folks have questioned why I am asking $5500 for a non-running "project" well, honestly 2wd don't grow on trees, this one is in really nice shape and the ECE suspension parts come in at near $3k all by themselves, and even though it doesn't run at this second, the 454 that is in it is a fairly new rebuild and it was running when I pulled it out of my truck to put it in the Blazer, I just haven't been able to work on it to hook up the hoses, wiring, etc to get it running in the Blazer, but SOON!! I'll get more and better detailed picts of the Blazer and the Burb, so if you are interested in buying iether, just let me know what picts you'd like to see and I'll get them.

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

All righty then, I spent the WHOLE day working on the Blazer. It is a project, but the BBC is a newer rebuild, so I guess to justify to some members, my asking price I will hook up the wiring, hoses, etc, etc and make it a running Driving Blazer. Someone asked me if it was a legit 2wd, YES and I have a pict of the VIN tag, and just for chits and grins I shot a pict of the driver's side frame horn where the VIN is stamped and, yeah it matches the VIN, so the Blazer body is a 2wd and it sits atop it's factory 2wd frame, so no wories. On with the picts!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

OK first two picts above was the start, those are OE patina'd with minor surface rust, wanted to show em like that as they are only original ONCE then I scuffed and shot em with Black paint, and the core support, 4-row BB rad, etc, etc. I took very detailed picts of the rust. I have seen WAY WORSE and I have seen Blazers with none (well almost zero rust). This one is very mild for a 39 year old Blazer!! All of the rust can be cut out and new metal welded in, nothing is so bad a quarter needs to be replaced only a patch panel!! I have a pair of inner and out rockers that go with it, but I think only the outer is bad and the torsion or rocker "BOXES" are solid, so that is the nightmare on a Blazer and these are near perfect. MORE PICTS!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

OK the pict of the shiney silver thing is the door VIN tag, and the IMPORTANT parts are the "C" at the beginning which means 2WD!! and the second important part is the 2F177701 and the next pict of the "black part" with a 2F177701, what's that you say, the Driver's front frame horn and the VIN is stamped in the frame (here and a few other places that mostly only DOT officers know about, so don't steal one and think no one will know!!, Oh back the the numbers, 2F177701 is the last 8 digits of the VIN and that is on the frame, so 2+2=4 this is a legit "C" code 2wd Blazer "body" and the oe 2WD frame matches so body + frame = legit verified original 2wd Blazer not a conversion and in case you are into COOL numbers, how about the VIN code sequence, huh?! It was the 177,701 vehicle built. 2-1's, 1-0, and THREE 7's!! Who's feeling lucky with three 7's in the VIN!! As you can see the front clip is now beginning to become "complete" and MAN are there a TON of BOLTS that hold that clip together!! MORE Picts, you BET!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

OK the picts above show the rear seat as an original HIGHLANDER Blue seat, however the front seats were not there when I bought the Blazer, so you get two buckets, one in a HIGHLANDER Orange/yellow?? and a nice white vinyl one, both obviously need covers, but the frames are perfect and the tracks are as well. We are getting to the bottom of the "updated Blazer picts" hold on though I also have "updated" Burb photos too!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

OK the remainder of the picts of the "issues" on the body, can it be driven as is, ABSOLUTELY, again they are only original ONCE the Blue on the tub is the original paint, the front fenders are also original paint, just not the same color Blue as these are from a GMC, I "had to have a 68 clip" I know the Blazer was oe blue and in ONE color, I just don't like the 69-72 clips at all, as far as I am concerned they made a 67-8 clip and then nothing after that! Sorry!!. I will finish up the hook up of the 454 and fire it up, maybe Mon or Tues, the headers are out since the front is LOW!! The headers are dragging just pushing the Blazer around!! I will probably lower the rear another inch or two to try and come closer to level!!, BUY IT ALREADY I am and have done the "HARD STUFF" buy it and drive it and watch the folks heads almost twist off as they try to watch you cruise past!! OH, Burb Updates as well Someone asked me for picts of the gate and hatch, now this Burb is as close to 100% rust free as I have ever seen in person!! Oh Yeah it has a oe paint white 68 clip on it, I know it's a sickness!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

NO that's not rust on the gate or hatch it is just he paint chipping off, how about that gate, ORIGINAL PAINT and nary a scratch, this BURB is CLEAN!! I bought it for my family of five, but never got around to finishing it up, my LOSS, definately your GAIN!! If you in in AZ, NM, Cali, you might find a cleaner oe Burb, but if you live east of NM, I doubt, you'll find one this clean, build sheet was under the mat and in one piece!!, not highly optioned, but who cares you can add AC, easy, and who needs PS (if you do, calm down I have a complete set-up I'll throw into the deal if you buy it!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

OH NO!! the last pict shows the atrocities of RUST, calm down you can cover that hole with a quarter, for that matter I didn't know it was there till I pulled the rubber mat back, it is so small with the mat down you can't see it!! The rockers are solids so it is a minor hole the other side is in better shape, I have been all over this thing and this is the "worst part" are you kidding, it's almost like you left 2011 and went into your local Chevy dealership and bought a "slightly used 71 Burb in 72 or 73, it is a time capsule, no doubt!!

Here's the last of the Burb update picts. I will be working on it too I just need to bolt up some pieces and the Beauty will be rollin' the roads again, buy it now, before I put too much into it and raise the price or worst yet, decide not to sell!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer and 71 Burb both a projects!!

If that third pict doesn't get you a bit excited you may not be a "car guy". Look at that patina, only 40 years of loving AZ SUN can do that!! This is one of the nicest 67-8 clips I've ever seen, the guy I bought it from had the bed (LB sorry) and it was so clean you could eat of it, and not a cratch, I almost paid the $500 he wanted for the bed, JUST TO GET THE OE TAILGATE!! The 67-8 chevy truck clip is it! Well, next to the 70 RS Camaro nose, lucky for me, I have both! Yeah, when your vehicle "smiles back" you ARE A CAR PERSON!!

Thanks, I think so too, especially since a member just bought the Blazer!!
Both the Blazer and the Burb are sold pending payment, thanks to all that checked them out. If for some reason either deal falls through I'll let everyone know but both folks buying seem exstatic to get them.

NOW SOMEONE BUY THE HARLEY!!! PLEASE!! The quads also, I need to make a clean sweep the family and I are turning over a new leaf, so a move (overseas maybe!) is in the cards for us, so the more I sell the less I have to worry about shipping, storing, etc, etc!!

Thanks again to all that have checked out my "BABIES" I truely will miss them, I know they are on thier way to good homes.

Thanks! Mike
