Re: My 64 copperhead

The reason was so i could put the bbc where the sbc goes .also really just widen it for the ablity to take the valve covers off and more access to the back of the engine. was able to use headers for 67-72 bbc hooker. hope this helped.p.s.first firewall was not to pretty so redid it second one is the way to go .use 16 ga, cold rolled. i.e painted one

OK,
I have the motor mount frame brackets from a 72 GMC that was originally a big block truck.
The brackets and cross member are being used in a 65 build.
(I am also using the 72 frame)
The brackets are different than small block brackets I have here as I compared them side by side.
They allow the motor to sit lower and back.
I had it all mocked up and didn't notice any clearance issues before taking it apart again.
I will check clearance again once I get the cab back on the frame but I really like how your firewall came out so if things are too tight I may just copy your design.

I just want to make sure the wiper motor and heater parts still fit when all is said and done.
I am using the 63 recirculation system.
