Rear axle vent tube question

Is there suppose to be a 'check valve' or anything in the vent tube hose on the rear axle? Or is is just a hose routed up high?

The stock vent tube hose that I removed was clamped to the rear axle and bolted to the stock panhard bar crossmember, but there was nothing inside the end of the hose.

I was thinking about running the vent hose along side the rear brake hose (seen below) with a clamp or zip tie.

If there is suppose to be a 'check valve' does anyone have the part number? I've done a few searches and came up empty handed.

Thumbs up Re: Rear axle vent tube question

Very nice and clean! I like it. I have a check valve in mine to keep water out but I don't remember where I got it. Sorry!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Rear axle vent tube question

I ended up just putting a short one on (like a car). I think the long rubber tube was designed to keep the valve out of the water (in a pot hole or a creek).

Mine are like the one linked below. Sits in the hole on the housing with no hose.

Thanks Andy! It's turning out much nicer than I expected, but I think the Porterbuilt parts are to thank for that.

Great information, I swear I learn something new every time I post.

I replied to his PM, but for others, it's the Porterbuilt Mild Coilover Front/Rear.
