Let the ramp truck build begin!

I've wanted to do one of these for a long time but have only ran across one bed that I liked the styling of. Well, the one I have coveted for years came up for sale the other day and it made its way to Rottenwood.

Let the cab over search begin!

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Let the ramp truck build begin!

David ,there is an old COE on HWY 140 going toward Roswell from Canton just before the place that sells guns and Ammo .Not far past the old closed grocery/shopping center on the left .Dont know what kind it is ,it is sitting on a trailer next to a wooded area .

Re: Let the ramp truck build begin!

Nice looking body on that thang! Are you looking for another cab in better condition or doing something "different"?

Re: Let the ramp truck build begin!

He mentioned a cab over. So is that for another truck project or is the cab over to replace this cab? Hmmm.

Re: Let the ramp truck build begin!

Yes, It has a pretty nice cab on it and even came with a tach dash.. Looks like its a 1971 GMC that has had the front clip replaced to knock the GMC stink off it. As far as the plans for the cab, we are split down the middle at Rottenwood as to the outcome. I'm pretty sure eventually it will end up with a big truck or COE on it powered by a Cummins.

Re: Let the ramp truck build begin!

GMCs smell more like a truck . So, what was the special color? I see it has one of those fleet Budds on the rear. I wonder if it was formerly a rental truck. I don't know that any of those companies used GMCs, though.

I can't wait to see what you do. But I can be patient. Take your time to find the coolest cab

As much as it pains me to "wait", it probably will be a few months before we do anything. I have got to finish my other 2 projects before even thinking about this one....well, except looking for a cab and running gear.
