New Horns
The horn on my truck is dead, I understand that this is a common problem with these trucks. Is there anyone who rebuilds them or is it just easier to by new after market? My truck has only one, but thinking about installing a low note and high note both. Would there be an advantage to this or is it better to just install the one low note?

First make sure they are dead..... is the green wire receiving 12vdc when the horn button is pressed? If so, the horn is dead, but they can sometimes be revived by spraying WD-40 inside and letting it soak.
Many people get junkyard horns. I prefer two (high/low) to just one. Or you can look for triples (or more), probably from a Cadillac or other large GM vehicle.

Hi Lo sounds a lot better than a single horn, but I'd recommend what I did: find a four-note Cadillac in a junkyard (or eBay) and harvest that setup.
Sounds like a train because it has the full chord. Not as loud as a train, of course, but still 4 horns loud.

The Delco dual tone horn kits are being re-popped now. $90 for the set if you got the cheddar.

Im using one from a late model chevy pickup. I cut off the original mounting bracket and welded onto the new horn mount. works fine. 5.00 investment from u-pullit junkyard.

I just mounted a 70s/80s Mercedes horn in my '68 C/10. Sounds funny, but it works until I can find some 'period correct' horns. OEM horn burned out after only 49 years -- must've been built on a Friday during hunting season.

Thanks guys for the advice. Mine is dead, even pulled it off, grounded it on the battery and ran a wire from the positive post to it. I like the idea of the 4 note from the old Cadillac. I guess it's about time for me to visit our local U pull it yard. I'm also going to look for a front stabilizer bar while I'm there.
