'67 stepside spare tire fender?

I have a '67 chevy stepside with the spare tire mount. Would anyone happen to know how much a good fender with the spare tire mount usually sell for? I'm also new to the forum. Thanks in advance...

Re: '67 stepside spare tire fender?

Best bet would be auto swap meets or craigslist. most everyone dislikes the tire carrier because of restriction in vision during backing up I guess. But personally I think they are better than having a loose one in the bed for someone with sticky fingers. Step fenders vary depending on condition $75- $150 is about the going price. The older fenders usually have a rust issue around the lip where they attach to the bed sides no repair panels for that lip is made that I have found. And finding the complete tire mount is a bit harder to come across. Another fine place to keep an eye on is the parts board here as there are a few that part trucks regularly. Good Luck and Welcome. If you post a WTB on the parts board after paying for that right you may find what your looking for.

Lightfoot,
I don't want to discourage you but, in my experience,
you're going to look high & low for even a passable fender.
Some times they are out there...some times not.

Keep your eye on CL, here on the board and eBay.
You could also become a Premium member here and
post a Want to Buy on the parts board.

Good Luck on your quest!

I have a rust free one on my truck I want to trade but unfortunately everyone that's looking for one is always way to far away

Re: '67 stepside spare tire fender?

Here's a number to a guy in Billings, Montana that had a nice, rust-free spare tire fender for me.

Shipping was more than the fender but that's how it goes. The man is a class act and knows his business. He shipped it to me in a wooden crate so I wouldn't have to worry about dents.

(UPS BADLY dented a front fender I had bought once....they paid to fix it but it was a pain).

Personally, I love the spare tire fender and that's where I'd put a spare tire if I was designing cars. I've had a few flats and I've changed each one myself right there. I hate digging through all my truck junk (since I carry a lot of gear daily) to get to a spare. I would REALLY hate having to get underneath a truck to get to a spare that will be dirty as all get out.

So keep after it man, I support you fully.
