Reverse lamp switch for NV4500

I've just swapped my SM465 for an NV4500 and one of the things on my to-do list is to get the reverse lights working again. Does anybody know whether the reverse lamp switch from the SM465 will work in the NV4500? I know they have totally different connectors, but if this works I wouldn't have to splice a new connector in my wiring. Thanks --Rick

First picture is the switch on the SM456 and second is on the NV4500.

Pull them out and compare. If they look the same, screw it in and test continuity with a meter with it in reverse. I'd bet the 465 is SAE and the 4500 metric.

Re: Reverse lamp switch for NV4500

The NV4500 switch looks like a two position Weatherpak shroud. Just swap the Packard 56 connector to a two position Weatherpak tower connector and plug it in.

Re: Reverse lamp switch for NV4500

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll look into whether just swapping switches will work. If not, it looks like I need a Standard Motor Products S712 connector like this one.

Re: Reverse lamp switch for NV4500

The Standard Motor Products pigtail is around $20.
The AC Delco PT107 is around $13.

If you have the tooling to terminate them... You can get a connector kit on Amazon for around $7 with Prime 2 day shipping. https://www.amazon.com/Delphi-Packar.../dp/B004DVM7RG

Re: Reverse lamp switch for NV4500

Thanks Hatzie. I ordered the connectors you linked, but it doesn't look like I'll need it for this at least. I'm sure I'll find somewhere else they'll come in handy.

The part that matters on these 2 switches look the same and the switch I pulled from my SM465 works just fine in the NV4500.
