I have the style in the second picture, but it doesn't have enough adjustment to clear the valve cover yet still be tight (belt length is extremly critical). I figured the style in the second picture was not orginal for our trucks, but maybe I'm wrong since the one on ebay is for our trucks and looks the same?

I need one like in the first picture. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I will be posting a whole pile of brackets (used though...I have alot in NOS but plan on stashing them away) on ebay in the next few days. All kinds....a/c, power steering, alternator, smog pump...etc Going to have my Son sort through them, look up the part numbers and start listing.

I am at work tonight but I will check my two stock original 72's to be sure what I am telling you here is correct. The GM parts book showed a different bracket used in 72 and I'm pretty sure that is the 12" one in picture 1. GM still as of a year ago stocked only the 11" bracket because I bought one for my 56 to use an alternator but it too was to short for my project too with my valve covers. I couldn't find the 72 bracket only at that time so I found a reproduction Vette bracket.

If you need the longer one, use a mid 70s Corvette upper bracket. GM part number is 460754
