What Rally Wheels???

Because I am new to Chevy, this is probably a dumb question. I just do not know which parts interchange with what year models. Which 6-lug Chevy rally wheels will work on my 67 C10? I like the wheels in these photos, and because the axles are so short on these old trucks, do I need wheels spacers to get them out a bit. I expect they are 15 inch wheels and expect they are 7 or 8 inches wide. What all do I need to get this look on my rig?

Oh and what tire sizes should I be looking for for this set up?

Thanks alot!

Re: What Rally Wheels???

I run the 4wd square body rally's on my lowered 69 with no issues. on the rear. I run 265/75 15 tires in them. Ran them on all4 corners till I lowered it. Now I have 5 lugs on front from 2wd pickup. Van ones are 7' truck ones are 8'.The truck wheels look better with the extra 1' dish

Re: What Rally Wheels???

You don't mention anything about your truck, but I have a 72 Blazer 4WD and I've got rally wheels from a square body (73 and up) running 12.50 X 33 BFG all-terrain radials. 33 is about as big as you can go without a lift.

You shouldn't need any spacers to run rally wheels.

Re: What Rally Wheels???

The 6 lug Rallye's are from 73-later 4x4 pickups they are 8" wide.
Now, there are 7" wide 6 lugs Rallye's out there from mid 70's Blazers.
But they are hard to locate.

I own a 1968 C10 SWB. I'm using the 73-87 Truck Rallyes, same as in your picture. My Rallyes are 8 x 15 and I'm running 225/70R15 up front and 255/70R15 in the rear. NO wheel spacers needed and I'm not sure why you're asking to "get them out a bit"? You mean you want the tires outside the fenders? I don't get it. Am I missing something?
Here's a pic of mine.

Re: What Rally Wheels???

Thanks for all of the information. My truck is a 2WD with skinny steel farm wheels on it. They are just tucked up under the wheel wells alot. I just want to get the tire/wheel combo out a bit closer to the edge of the fender not sticking out in any way. From the sound of the information, I will need to be looking for a set of 73 thru 87, 8-inch wide, 6-lug truck wheels. Here is a picture of my rig...

Re: What Rally Wheels???

When you get those fancy rallies why don't you just box those nasty ol' grandpa hub caps up and send them to me.... since you won't be using them any more. Nice rig.

... and really nice caps.

Re: What Rally Wheels???

That is one awesome little truck! The 6 lug 8" truck rallies will look great on it. I believe that the track width is a little less than the 71-72 trucks, but when you get the 8" rallies on it, the wheels will sit farther out and fill the wheel wells a little better. I am running them on my '68 shop truck with 275/60/15 tires and I am very happy with them. It's hard to beat the truck rallies...

Sweet ride man. Have fun with it.

Jon

Re: What Rally Wheels???

UPDATE!!! Found a set of rally wheels and got them bolted on this afternoon. WOW what a difference a set of wheels and tires makes in the appearance! I will have to wash them up and get some new centercap, lug nuts and a couple of trim rings, but I am diggin the new look! Thanks for all the advise and help with my rally wheel selection. Guess I got an original set of wheels and a set of hubcaps for sale now!

Save your old wheels and hubcaps .probably already have a lotof pm on them. They are worth more than that set of rally wheels.

Re: What Rally Wheels???

"1968aj" I though about keeping the originals, but if I am to be honest with myself, I would never use them again unless it is for a wagon or trailer. They would end up taking up space in my garage and collecting dust. If I can help someone else out by selling them, then that's OK. How much you think they might be worth??

I do like the new sporty look with the rally wheels though. Fills up the wheel wells nicely!!

Thanks

Re: What Rally Wheels???

255/70/15 on 8" ralleys, not sure what they came off of but I like 'em.
I wouldn't sell the original wheels and hubcaps, keep them with the truck they belong on.

Re: What Rally Wheels???

Rally's are awesome and are worth a little TLC - The ones on my 69' Burb were beat to hell, but I spent an afternoon cleaning, sanding, cleaning and then painting them with Eastwood's Silver Argent. Well worth the effort as they look night and day different!

Re: What Rally Wheels???

So if I am looking to replace my wheel vintique, 6 lug rallys with a 6 lug, OEM rally wheel, what are my options? The wheel vintiques have to much lateral runout and give me a bit of vibration at highway speeds. I have disc brakes up frort so I need to have 4" backspace.

Good day Chris. Not sure of the Back space. They're 8 X 15 Truck rallyes and I believe it's a 4" back space.
Thanks for the compliment.

Re: What Rally Wheels???

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I would just continue off of this one since it's close to the same subject.

I am looking at purchasing rally wheels for my 72 Chevy C10. I've been looking at the ones on summitracing.com. I have a few questions as I am a newb when it comes to classic chevy tires.

Set-up and wants:
72 chevy C10
factory height but the rear is a bit raised due to heavy duty coil springs.
I would like to put 275/60's or 255/60's on but am open to opinions. 15x8 rims

Questions:
-Is there a cheaper place to purchase 42 series rims?
-Do they all come with the -12.mm offset? Or, can you select a different offset?
-What is the factory offset?
-Will a 275/60 tire be too much tire?

I have these same 15x8 five lug truck rally wheels but am really not a fan of the center caps. Are there any other options out there I can run?

Cool Re: What Rally Wheels???

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...=1&d=149074720.
I ran 15X8 rallies with rings and caps for 1 season them added 67 full wheel covers to the rallies for a more period correct look. Like you "67 beast" I like the wheel wells filled out too. I acquired a pair of 15X10's. Thinking of wrapping them and putting them on to fill out a bit more. Keep your caps. They don't take up much space. Just in case you change your mind a few years down the road. Getting harder to find all the time.IMO

Very nice truck by the way!
