lookup aircraft rivets they work and look just like what you are looking for.

Re: fender extension rivets

just be sure to test fit so there is not an interference fit with the hood on those corners. I used pop rivets for quick assembly to get stuff stuck together and found the large headed rivets i used were too thick and the hood interferes.
not a very good pic but it does show the big rivets I used just because they were handy. I plan to use thin headed rivets when the time comes.if it ever comes, lol.
hope that helps explain, like ogre says, a pic is worth, you know.

Re: fender extension rivets

I will just use jb weld and clamp it tight till it sets up. wont have to worry about rivet size then

Re: fender extension rivets

kinda painful to watch, and you may wanna order birthday cake, because you may have another birthday before he is done talking, but this is what I will likely do. same principle as an aircraft rivet.

Well, if you're gonna do that you might as well just plug weld 'em with a MIG. At least if you want to get them apart again you'll be able to drill the welds out rather than cut the flanges off.

Re: fender extension rivets

good idea about plug weld if I had a welder and could weld. Thought about aircraft rivets ,but having to buy a 1-2 hundred dollar tool to set them isn't worth it. The link about the aluminum seamless rivet idea just seems it would be quite difficult do .don't ever plan to replace them again or have a need to take them apart might just use snap rivets just more of them. So thanks for your ideas.
