My Driver Restore Thread

Figured I should start one of these so I can put my pics in one place. I bought this truck to be my driver so it won't be a frame-off restore but more like a driving-restore! As I get something done I'll post before and after pics.

I was only going to install the VintageAir system in the truck but I kept thinking since I got it tore down this far.......well you can see what I mean.

Re: My Driver Restore Thread

I always liked the 65 Impala Silver-blue so that's the color I chose to go with. Eventually the truck will be that color but for now just the interior. I'm going to satin black the outside as I get things done.

I guess the upholstery is next? As nice as the rest of the interior looks, you're commited now! Can't wait until I get to that stage of my complete build up. Your pictures are an insperation to us that are attempting the same thing.

Ha! You're right! I had a cover made at http://www.ricksupholstery.com and they just sent me a pic of it before they shipped it. My wife is recovering the door panels to match the seat. Like I said this thing just snowballed.

I got the kick panels from classicparts.com The glovebox and ashtray inserts are actually woodgrain vinyl that I sprayed black with vinyl spray.

Re: My Driver Restore Thread

I knew eventually I'd put a tach in there so when I bought a new lens I got one for a tach. Until then I wanted something to stick in there to add a bit to it. I found the bowtie on eBay.

Pretty good quality. I'm happy with it.

That is an awesome color combo for sure, I really love that paint color. BTW, where is shorewood? Isn't that up by the I55/I80 interchange?
