Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

This guy who went away for two weeks said he would make it quick when he got back on the 25th, haven't heard a word, and now it's the 28TH!!! I am biting my lip but it's getting harder by the minute. Has this site changed that much that the fun thing we did a few years ago that brought so many here together is just not doable with this newer bunch? It sure appears that way. How chicken poop! C'mon people. This is supposed to be fun and interesting. I'm getting more "What is wrong with people?" frustration I look to get away from here than enjoyment. Dang, that disease, whatever it is out there, is seeping into this site now. I don't come here to get angry, but that sure is the way I feel right now. I may have to ignore this tread and just hope to see Monroe when he shows up here. Then I will do all I can to make up for the dullness. Thanks to the first couple few who have made this happen. Is it that hard for the others to figure out how this works and why we are doing it? Dayum! I'm not the only one feeling this way. Special-K is too!!

I feel the same way and I feel responsible for the lull. I'm the one that picked Monroe's destination.

Don't feel bad -- I chose the location that didn't work out before you got Monroe and felt bad about it too. But none of us has any way of knowing when bad timing will happen (other than when dates are written on the address labels). But you did your job and took some awesome pics. It actually made me forget that there was a lull before this one because of the good follow through that you had.

Monroe will be back in the game, we're just hitting some snags. I'm holding out hope that the current member will redeem with some good pics and updates. He did take the time to update the thread while he was out of town and found out Monroe was sent to him.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

You guys are cool in my book for sure. I asked for people that wanted to participate. I asked them to be sure they wanted to do this. To be sure they would only hold on to Monroe for a few days or so. I also asked for times that would not work for them so it could be noted on their address label.

I think the few of you that actually saw inside his little box home (so far) could see that we are pretty well organized. Sharpies, tape, premade labels and extras to add others that want to play along. After the good times we all had with Bonnie traveling all over the world I figured keeping Monroe in the US for now would really keep things hopping LOL. There were a few hiccups last time too, maybe we are just getting them out of out system early this time ... There ya go, that was my happy face on the whole thing =)

I dunno, since I'm on a 'puter wondering where Monroe is, I figured I'd try Googling for him. So, I Googled "Hitchhiking rubber chicken" and came up with this:

LOL... Nothing happened to my wheel bearings- I switched them with USA made Timkens during the install! As soon as I saw "CHINA" on them they were done.

My 10 y.o. asked me on the weekend "Dad, when is that chicken getting here?" I told him about it months ago. I couldn't believe he remembered.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

I had a mod remove several pages of our shenanigans when Monroe was stuck in Utah for a month, this time I think we will just let it ride.

Nothing back yet from the PM I sent to current holder of Monroe.

So, did a mountain lion or a bear attack you? He's had plenty of rest. I think the right thing to do would be forfeit your moment on stage and pass him on like right now. You had double or more your time already and have gotten plenty of attention. Not our problem you didn't use it as it was intended. Think of the rest of us and get him rolling. Silence is golden. I hear you loud and clear. You don't want to do this and want to send him on. Wise move. Over!

EDIT: Well, not quite yet. I just checked your profile and your last activity was 3:51 today, about an hour ago, and not even a post here? WTF?

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

Lets keep the comments more on the amusing side, and remember this is a family site and a family thread, so no matter how you spell it that is not a word I want my grand kids reading when they sit down and read the Rubber Chicken thread with grandpa.

Trust me guys I get the frustration, but lets keep this thread open, because I "know" Monroe will "possibly" show up again haha!
