Anyone know the location of the vin number on the frame?

I'm not sure where the vin or partial vin number is located on the frame of my 1990 GMC c2500. If anyone has come across it during a restoration or repair, would you please let me know.

Thanks for any help.

NYS doesn't use the frame VIN, but I think I remember seeing one on the driver side, outside part of the frame, under the cab.

Re: Anyone know the location of the vin number on the frame?

I have my 1990 K1500 parts truck on jacks in the shop. Let me look around with a flashlight and wire brush and I will confirm the location.

Re: Anyone know the location of the vin number on the frame?

I would expect it to be on the top horizontal flange of the frame (not the side), just based on knowing how the VIN stamper worked.
