vent cable rehab
not sure where to post this ?....
I have all the vent and heater control cables out of the truck and as luck would have they are all frozen up and wont move...I have the 2 cowl vents ,the heater water bypass, and the heater/defrost cables....I want to reuse these cables if at all possible since all the factory knobs match and are in good shape.........has anyone had any luck with a method for getting them working again? .....ive got a few ideas and did some net searching...just wondering if anyone has had luck with a certain method..

Re: vent cable rehab
Graphite lube works great keeping them sliding.

Re: vent cable rehab
Combine the two.
Soak them and work them until they move freely. Degrease with lacquer thinner, brake cleaner, carb cleaner Lube with graphite and work it in.

Re: vent cable rehab
I bought a 22 semiauto pistol that was rusted stuck from sitting in a car trunk for 30 years. I soaked in a 50/50 mix of ATF and WD40 for a week. That did the trick
