Need ideas on how to deal with bed floor ridges on fuel filler

I have spent the last 2 hours looking at post's here with no ideas.I just bought a Boyd's EFI under the bed fuel top fill tank.I also bought there bed fill flush mount kit to fit the tank.You have to remove there cap and attach a short piece of 2" rubber hose from tank filler neck to flush mount filler. I have 2 questions.
1-If I use this floor flush mount kit (or any other door)how will I deal with the high low ridges in bed floor not allowing it to be flat on the bed floor?
2-The 2" rubber hose from tank filler neck to flush mount floor filler is a very tight fit and I can't imagine how I could ever get the hose off tank if I had to drop tank down?
I think now I may not use the flush mount kit and just buy a door of some kind and use gas cap that comes with Boyd's tank.But how would I deal with bed floor ridges?This is the door I was thinking about.

I used the circle that I cut out of the bed floor as the door. I used a fuel door hinge off of something from the junk yard and welded it to the circle and the bottom of the bed. I also welded in that raised thumb grab section from the same fuel door I stole the hinge from. It works.

Great design and build for filler cover! That square cover might look out of place in the bed.

Since it has what appears to be a good size lip on it, I would flip it over and lay it in the bed where you want it to go, square it up with the bed, then take marker and dot each hole. Then take straight edge and connect dots. Then I would take hammer and dolly and flatten the metal where the lip will sit. Then grab some stainless steel hardware to bolt it to the flattened metal. Just make sure as you start flattening close to the marker line you keep dry fitting the cover to make sure you don't go too far past. You might have to keep trimming the hole in the bed to make your cover fit since the hammer and dolly will make the metal expand.

Me and a friend talk about this 7 years ago.See where from Calif the car and truck capital.An are dulima was witch side to put the french gas Door on.Then thought why not have 2 tanks one on ether side of the bed.So for his half ton he put 2 gas doors on his bed.5 years down the road.Was the best decision we ever come up with.Never having to wait for a gas stall to open.Put in a switching valve and plumb it.Plus 10 years now they make them plastic tanks for the new fuel injected LS motors.No more gas going bad after 1-3 years as long as air don't get to the gas it will stay freash.

Plus on a side note if some one hits you no spark to lite the gas
