finally.. the build.. ma' watch this!

well after all my awaited years, lingering behind the scenes and loathing every other truck builders build on this site, i finally said to myself, "self, why havent you got off your @$#$% and started on your build??" well here she is.. the lowley beginnings of what is to be awesomeness. haha keep posted. For starters, its a bare bones, rusty long bed truck. destiny found its way into my destructive... i mean constructive hands.. I converted it to five lug all the way around, swapped in 80's model front suspension and power brakes, a wrecked, low mileage 90's silverado lovingley voluntered its heart to the project. I swapped out the stock tbi, in favor of a tride, but true quadrajet, and a big cap HEI. along with changing the 700R4 over to a gear driven speedo. fast forward a bit.. decided to shorten her a bit, they say this has to be done under the cab? sounds like the beginnings of a frame off right?? RIGHT! lol now here we are today, two and a half years later... just getting her back together today, ready to crank and run... well the winter wasnt so friendly this year.. you guessed it... cracked the #&$%% block, OMG!! for petes sake! pics coming soon to a 67-72 trucks near you!

Re: finally.. the build.. ma' watch this!

geeze. come to find out I have wiped out 3rd and 4th in the 700r4 behind my 383. anyone have any tips on strengthening up that 700 before it goes back in? Im looking at the constant pressure valve bodies, and billet servos, adding additional kevlar clutches and bands. any other ideas???
