Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Sounds like ya'll need to come to NC, mine was less than my 2013 car, also, my grandpa had it registered as a commercial Farm truck, which was much cheaper than it being registered as any other type of vehicle

Basically a way for California to get more money out of you. The reg on my 46 year old truck costs more than my wife's Acura. Go figure.
Not only is my 72 registered as commercial in CA, but I also get hit with the over-weight charge since it's a 3/4 ton.

Well, still, no smog, so it's still worth it.

If my memory serves me right, I think it was 43". I made it as wide as I could without obstructing anything underneath. The back requires a few 2x4's extra to level it out front to back.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

For 66clow, The drop is 5/7, 2" drop spindles and 3" drop front springs and 5" drop springs with 2" lowering blocks in the rear. The truck was vermillion red and white top but has a bad repaint a little darker shade. It had been buffed on before I bought it and needs some extra work . I painted the rockers, latch pillars and below rear glass. I'll try to dull that up a little as well as the top.

Check your upper control arms. There was a thread about being on backwards (right side on left, left side on right) recently. The bump stop is towards the rear. It's a common mistake. You aren't the first and you aren't the last. I just happened to notice in the picture. Just looking out for you.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

When I bought my truck just recently, the owner said he thinks the carb needs to be rebuilt, the accelerator pump is dead, and if you romp on the gas, it'll stall. Once I knew more about what was going on (replacing the entire fuel system basically), I figured it probably wasn't just the accel pump, but I figured it needed to be replaced anyways, and the carb is pretty old. It's an Edelbrock 1406. Got a kit on eBay from a place called Carb Junkies, good quality kit, came with new floats and an accel pump with a steel rod that supposedly won't be affected by modern gas. Only $43. I've heard these are an easy rebuild, and it really was. Turned this:

Got that corrected first thing this morning... and then moved on to finishing up the front roll pan and fitting the 69 Camaro front spoiler...

Well it was more this weekend then today but I did a 5 lug disc brake conversion, change out the gears in the rear end, lowered the front about an inch more and put on a new set of flat black rally wheels.
