Saddle body color??

Is there such a thing as Saddle for a body color? I'm looking at a truck and on its SPID label its listed as Saddle/White It looks like a gold to me and a nice color but the interior is an ugly red that dont go well at all together.

Yes, it does look close to the gold, unless they are side by side. Heres mine. Listed on SPID as saddle.Name: Hans' 68 C-10 012.jpg

Mine is white/saddle (SPID option 4555AD). Your red must be a repaint.

Re: Saddle body color??

You didn't see many Saddle Trucks from '68. It was more common in 66-68. That color interior is hard to find. I think member Bob409 would buy that stuff right up if you ended up with this truck. Is it a 4wd???

Do the floormat and seat look like original equipment in that red color too ? Or just the door panels/armrests ? Its a unique combination for sure.

This is a 69 CST Custom Camper/20 and the dash pad and buckets match the door panels..SPID label says 4619HH red vinyl trim, it just looks more like a maroon to me. Tim, yes it is a 4x4 but it was a body swap truck and originaly 2 wheel drive.

Re: Saddle body color??

Rob, that's the 69' only red (maroon) color. There was also the dark blue (Navy) 69' only interior color. Hard to find colors for 69' owners. Trevor

Re: Saddle body color??

That maroon is '69-only...the only red they had that year. The blue interior id '69 was navy blue. If you look at the paint colors for '69 you see a lot of one year colors, too. Something 'bout those '69s. Their vinyl door panels are unique. I like the ones with the bow tie or GMC embossed top center. Not sure the exact story, but many didn't have that, like this truck.

EDIT: LOL! Hey Trevor, you thinking what I'm thinking right now? Well,we were a few minutes ago.

Re: Saddle body color??

Tim, that is wild to be thinking pretty much the same thought within the same minute or two. Weren't the embossed bowtie and gmc ONLY found on high packaged models like CST and the GMC counterpart? I really enjoy seeing 69's just for the different color interiors that aren't repopped. Much like seeing the medium green/turquoise interior. Trevor

Hey, thanks for remembering special K!

Blazerman:

If you do get the truck and want to get rid of the maroon, I wouldn't mind a set of sun visors with the clips if they are nice. Mine are long gone. A nice set of seat belts would be great too. I located my originals but they are faded so need restoring. Just keep me in mind.

I located most of my original interior and bought it back but it all needs to be vinyl sprayed anyway due to fading so probably going to buy a new dash pad and just spray to match. I did just buy new seat upholstery. (I got red but it's RED, not maroon. Figured it best to get as close to original as possible that I will be spraying too)

Gonna be a while though, next year at this time if I'm lucky. I'm on cab and frame duty right now.
