Window Regulators

I am looking for a decent right side Window Regulator. I searched the threads and it seemed alot of folks recommended the NAPA Regulators, I ordered one like 3 weeks ago and have yet to receive even a tracking number. They cant give me a reason so they are supposedly refunding my money.

A lot of other places show they are on back order so I am having trouble finding one that isn't overly expensive, as this is just a driver truck not a show truck or anything.

I already tried there too. They show in stock but then after you place the order a couple days later they tell you it’s on back order. NAPA was same way.

Re: Window Regulators

I got mine from Classic Industries, not to be confused with Classic Parts.

They're 10 bux cheaper than other vendors. I've had mine over 4 years with no problems..

Re: Window Regulators

In the Tri-Five world aftermarket regulators look and function as they should but do not last the tests of time. Many folks have reported the splines strip and just do not hold up. Are the aftermarket regulators a good quality product? Would we be better off cleaning/restoring what we have?

If your originals are not worn, then by all means, clean them with kerosene and then brush on a mix of vaseline and 30 weight motor oil (warm slightly on a stove until mixed). Grease your roller tracks with Lubri-plate white lithium and you're good to go.

Thanks for your response, very good information if I end up being able to reuse what's there.

So, what of the quality of aftermarket regulators for these trucks...Do you know if they are of good quality?

Re: Window Regulators

Never had any problems ordering them from GMC Paul. They came in with surface shipping in less than a week or two. Product was of acceptable quality.
Of course that was maybe 3 years ago, Pre-Covid.
I saved my OEM regulators. Brothers used to sell a kit to replace the working gears in the crank action, and the white plastic rollers.
After looking at the kit, I decided I didn't have the time or patience to rebuild the originals, so I got the aftermarket regulators. I couldn't ''down'' a Daily Driver.
Happy with them.
