Am i missing something?...

So a couple weeks ago over thanksgiving break i was home from college, enjoying getting to drive the truck while i was home. I noticed a strange smell coming from under the hood, and sure enough a brittle wire that goes from the battery/ fuel pump to the toggle switch caught fire. So fast forward two weeks later for christmas break and i decided to rewire the whole thing. I wired a ground from the switch, and a wire to the actual fuel pump to the battery. But it is direct wired and i can not control it from the switch? am i missing something?

if it wasnt so dark id try to get a picture up haha. But your saying start with a wire from the pump, run it to the switch then splice into it and run it to the battery?

What about a inline fuse at the battery?

Re: Am i missing something?...

So you have the wire from the battery thru the fuse to the switch to the pump.Does the pump have a ground wire to the frame? Have you checked the amp draw on the pump?

Use a Bosch relay and wire it like this with the switch hidden in the cab.

This is the best and safest way to do it. If you do not use a relay you should be fused and use a 30 amp dc switch

You always have nice photo drawings of wire set ups..
maybe group them all together in a fax area thread.. or is that already done? and I missed it

Re: Am i missing something?...

I can't do anything with the threads. It has to be a mod or an admin and you're talking about a lot of work. JUST ASK KRUE.--
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=262547

If you type my username into the search box at the top of the page and tick on the little 67 72 circle then click google you can see all the threads I have posted in. They are not organized by category so you would have to surf for a topic you are interested in and chances are I have posted a pic in it.

You can also click on my username and click on find other posts by Vettevet but you will need a lot of time.to find what you want.

I usually log on every day so if anyone needs something specific I probably have it on my hard drive. I can always be reached by PM but we can't send pics in PMs without a HTTP\\ address and I don't want to mess with that.
