Re: lambo doors?

Don`t they look just like any other door?Well...except when they`re open.Leave your doors open much?

Anytime you get into a group of enthusiasts sharing love for a particular vehicle you`ll find most of them get bothered seeing the object of their affection hacked in a way that permanently alters the vehicle for a passing fad. It`s a free world.Just thought you would want to take that into consideration if you already hadn`t.You can expect the kinds of reactions you see here.

It`s yours, there`s plenty out there.Do what you like. But,hopefully there will be no "kit" made.I`d at least like to think it would take great skills and lots of work to keep the quantity lost to a minimum. The whole point is "coolness" and to "stand out",right?I mean, there`s no other point other than to see if you can do it.They certainly don`t make the truck easier to get into.If there was a "kit" then there`d be alot more of them and that would defeat the whole point. It would also speed the passing of the fad up until the fad-followers would get jaded and move to the next fad.

Re: lambo doors?

This is the one thing I can not stand on this board, sorry I have to speak out, you can even ban me if so desired but WHY do people on this board pick apart others options or options when they try to be different. I'm an Auto Enthusiast which means I love ALL Trucks and Cars no matter what’s done to them. There’s a lot of creative stuff out there and the time and effort it takes to do some of these projects has to be applauded. It may not be my cup of tea but I won’t dis it. Remember the old adage
“If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all”

Re: lambo doors?

If you want to be different....then go for it. It's your truck. I agree with the above.....He didn't ask what we thought, he asked where he might be able to get a kit. It's funny when I see the trucks of some people that bash ideas on the board. I wonder....were you drunk when you made that addition to yours???? lol "May he cast the first stone...."

Re: lambo doors?

Whatever you do just make sure to spend good money on good hinges. I have bought two rides and one had over 700 in hinges, hardware, and struts and my other ride had a 300 kit that was really scary to open and keep open. There would be 8" at full extention and if you were standing to close in a wind gust the doors start looking really stupid and *could could smack your domb in front of a couple chubbies.

Re: lambo doors?

I would suggest that you contact LSD doors at lsddoors.com, I would stay away from the Auto-Loc stuff. Also I think that being unique is the basis of the custom industry and the only judge is the owner himself/herself

Re: lambo doors?

Your truck and your money but I'd have to say that it is one of those fad things you will get tired of rather quickly once the mouthbreathers find another fad thing to ooh and aah over at the local shows.

I was one of the first to put suicide doors on my truck in the north west. I did it in 1980 before kits and before half the trucks and cars at a rod trot had suicide doors. My truck is chopped 4 inches has 120 louvers in the hood and the suicide doors so I am not one of the "don't cut up the body" brigade by any means but in the long run I just don't see the lambo doors as something that you will want on the truck a couple of years from now.

Re: lambo doors?

look in the back of classic trucks magazine or truckin magazine I always run into them doors. Bit the suicide doors may look better. Because there is a guy in my town with lambo doors on a dodge and it has scratches on the fenders and it was not even done correctly. just my 2 cents worth.
