I'd have to say k.c. or st.louis are probably the best choices for being centrally located. I'd drive to either place!

I say keep it off of the coasts...granted, a west coast meet would be MUCH closer for me, but that's just not cool to the guys back east...likewise, a Carolinas meet is pretty cruel to those of us out west...Kentucky is about as far east as I could go, only if we actually got it near the Corvette plant, and yes that is the only reason. I wouldn't mind something a bit further west, of course.

Imagine the photo opportunities...and I've got at least two friends building '67-'72s with 700R4s, heh...

I really think if it were sanctioned it would work better. Have three meets one around Ky,tenn, then have one in Texas, then a nother in Cali. this would give all the members a chance to make it to a show, also would look good to the magazines that we had such a big following, plus I think three differnt meets would have a better turn out........ my 2 pennys then maybe we could have road trips to the other spots like one year everybody from the east drive to the texas meet or somthing that would be cool to see a sh*t load of 67-72 as far as the eye can see going to the same place.....

If you want one where about everybody could go you need to be central. I know its just me way up here, but there is no way I could drive to Texas. Its 700+ miles to Missouri from here, but if it was in Missouri I would show up.

I think it would have to be split up. It is almost 900 miles from here to kansas city. Maybe an east coast, Tenn, and west cost,?, would allow more people to attend. Personally its hard for me to get off time for more that a one day travel time event. JMO
Would try to make anything within reason though.

IMO, this could work if it started off with regions. Then after a year or two as turnout increases at the regional events, a national event could be planned. Someone used the poci club as an example in the other thread. That is a perfect example, they are broken down by region, state and most states have chapters within the state. They have chapter , state and national events every year. With the amount of people on this board, it would
not be that hard to do. All we need is a few people who have some extra time and are willing to make a commitment to do this and make it work.

Also if it was to work by region ya'll can't leave out the members from Canada and other countries also. This board has international members and has the potential to have one of the largest truck clubs around.

Regions might work for you coast people, but what about here up north? Have you guys counted the members up here. I think there might be 4 in SD. I know of 2 in North Dakota and not many in Minnesota that I know of. How would you split that? Just wondering is all

NE, KS, SD, CO, IA would all work for me, provided I can get away from the factory from H E double hockeysticks for a weekend.

I'm a newbie, but I think the idea would be cool. Since I am at the bottom of the world (so it seems) It'll be a haul to anywhere and I like to go anywhere.

Is there a way we can cut out all places with very few votes and restart it so we have a better idea of where the best place would be?
